California Personal Insurance

A standard homeowners policy is built for a house that looks like everyone else’s. High-net-worth personal insurance in California is built for the house you actually have: 3,000 square feet and up, a rebuild cost that does not match the Zillow number, and a market that has already shown it can walk away.

Falcon West is a Chubb Cornerstone agency with a San Diego headquarters. We place PURE, Chubb Masterpiece, AIG Private Client, Cincinnati, and the rest of the private-client bench when those carriers are the right tool. We place something else when they are not.

The house is 3,000 square feet. The policy should know that.

Square footage is not a vanity metric. It is the difference between a rebuild you can live with and a check that stops at last decade’s limit. These California communities are where 3,000 square foot homes are the norm, not the exception. That is the book we write.

San Diego County: Rancho Santa Fe, Fairbanks Ranch, La Jolla, Del Mar.

Los Angeles: Pacific Palisades, Bel Air, Malibu, Hidden Hills.

Santa Barbara: Montecito.

Peninsula and Marin: Atherton, Hillsborough, Woodside, Ross, Belvedere, Tiburon.

Orange County: Newport Beach, Corona del Mar.

We work the rest of the state too. The through-line is the same: a significant house, a real rebuild cost, and a carrier that still writes California.

Where we work

The map is centered on Rancho Santa Fe, the San Diego County belt where larger homes sit close together. The practice is statewide.

San Diego office: 5353 Mission Center Road, Suite 215, San Diego, CA 92108. 619-297-9181. CA Lic# 0616640.

The mass market left a lot of these houses

From 2019 to 2024, more than 100,000 California homeowners lost coverage to carrier exits and non-renewals. The January 2025 Los Angeles fires destroyed over 16,000 structures and made underinsurance public. Standard carriers tightened or left high-value property. Private-client carriers kept writing significant homes in La Jolla, Montecito, Pacific Palisades, and Marin when the submission was presented correctly.

Access is not the whole job. The job is knowing which carrier fits which house, and how to put the full risk in front of the right underwriter.

One program, not a stack of policies

Home, auto, umbrella, valuables, flood, earthquake, domestic staff, and personal cyber belong in one structure. A trust omitted from a declarations page, or an umbrella sitting on the wrong underlying limits, only shows up in a claim.

Start on our private client page for how the program is built. Personal cyber sits on its own page: personal cyber insurance.

If the policy still looks like a first house, it is time

If the coverage was written for a simpler property and the house is no longer simpler, review it.

Falcon West has provided coverage for families and businesses across the United States since 1981. We build programs that protect what you have already built.

This page is a general summary, not a guarantee of coverage. What applies to a claim depends on the circumstances and the terms of the policy as issued.
